Technical Outdoor Solutions designed and installed a bespoke hexagonal free-play structure and playground zip wire at Fisherground Campsite, creating an engaging outdoor play area that encourages children to explore, climb and develop their physical skills through adventurous play.
The hexagonal structure was constructed using timber poles and carefully built around an existing living tree, incorporating the natural surroundings into the design. Climbing holds were fitted to the tree, allowing children to climb up to the treehouse platform and experience a unique play feature that blends naturally with the environment.
The lower level of the structure featured boarded external faces, creating a series of bouldering walls. A variety of additional play elements were incorporated into the design, including monkey bars extending from the side of the structure, a vertical ladder, Burma bridge, tyre climb and slide.
Phase Two – Jolly Fisher Boat Adventure Play
As part of a second phase of development, TOS was commissioned to design and install an additional bespoke timber adventure play feature: the Jolly Fisher Boat. A climbing ramp was also installed as another feature for the campsite.
